Teaching Philosophy
I have worked with students of all ages and various levels and am
willing to adapt my
teaching style to meet the goals and needs of my students. While
musical excellence is at the heart of my teaching philosophy, I feel it
should never be at the expense of the joy of learning, creating and
performing music. I long for each student to work at his or her own
pace, so that they can gain confidence and thoroughly enjoy the
gift of music.
Voice Lessons
I am committed to teaching students healthy
ways to handle their
voices. My mission is to help each student maximize the potential of
his or her
voice by learning to control the registers, colors, and placement,
while growing in their ability to interpret and communicate
songs. My
technique focuses on deep breathing, combined with proper body
alignment, and releasing muscle tension. While I teach a classical bel
canto vocal technique, I belive that it can be the foundation for any
style of
singing - whether that is for opera, Broadway, or other styles of music.
Biography
I have a Bachelors and a Masters degree in
vocal music and have taught
students of all levels for over 18 years. I have been a
guest speaker for the New York State Orange County Music Educators'
Association and have led several children's, youth, and adult choirs. I
am also an active
opera
singer and recitalist, who has performed across the U.S. as well as in
Canada, Great Britain, South Korea, Hungary, and Hong Kong. For
more
information, please see my detailed bio.

have
allergies, please be advised that I
have a
dog. She will be kept in a separate room during your lesson.
From time to time, I may consider teaching at your home, provided that
you have a

If I can combine your lesson times with others in your neighborhood on
the same day, I
will reduce the travel fee to $10 per home.
If you do not have a piano or key board in your home, I am also willing
to meet you
in Manhattan at a music studio for an additional $25 studio
rental fee.
Cancellation Policy
Lessons must be canceled 24 hours in advance (unless there is an
emergency). Students will be charged for a full lesson if he or
she fails to cancel without 24 hours notice. Please call if
you are going to be late. I will do my best to accommodate you if
I can, but I can not guarantee that you will receive a full lesson if
